JUL. 4th, 2005

Exploder will be playing at Junctions this Thursday, July 7th.

It is the semi-finals of the Urban Audio Clash... the grand prize is $2000 and we would appreciate your vote.

If you can't come please tell all your friends about it.

We promise some awesome rock n' fuckin' roll.

MAR. 22nd, 2005

It's been a while... but I'm back to fill you in (in as little detail as possible) about the events that have occured the last while.

First of all... we took a break from shows to learn a few new covers and write a lot more... which we have done.

Secondly... Smitty left the band a few weeks ago so that kinda slowed things down a bit but we're getting back on track now with a new guitar player. We got Kirk Healey on guitar now and we've been going back over the old songs and learning a few new ones with him. We're still working through things but we'll be on our game for the next show... ready to make your ears ring again.

Thirdly... we were in the studio a few days ago and recorded our demo for the MIA grant submission. We chose a newer song that we have only done live once or twice called "Too Many Distractions"... we are really happy with the result and hope we get the grant so we can record the 5 song EP.

Speaking of the EP... it won't be for public distribution like Unblowupable was... to it's limited extent. The EP will just be for promotional uses... so if there are any people out there who planned to get their hands on a copy well... I guess you'll have to know someone in the band.

Fourthly... we're going to play our first show in over a month on April 1st at Roxxy's. There we'll be breaking out some new originals... and as some of you may have heard... yes, we will be playing Guns n' Roses album "Appetite for Destruction" start to finish that night... so if you're a Gn'R fan I wouldn't miss this show.

Fifthly... I'm lazy so I, or someone else in the band, will fill the rest in at a later date.

Hope to see you at Roxxy's next friday.

FEB. 6th, 2005

Okay... it's the day after the benefit show at The Breezeway and I'm really dizzy. From what I can remember the show went incredibly well last night... the band was tight and the crowd seemed really into it. They cut our set a bit short so we had to dump a few songs but it was still awesome... oh, and fuck you to the two guys who played 20 minutes into our time. As some of you know Pete and Gene weren't at all well last night but the guys pull a great show out of there asses and I think we left our mark on the stage... thankfully that's all we left on the stage... oh, and sorry to whoever has to clean that deck at The Breezeway. Having said all that I think the show last night was almost solely held together by Flynn... Flynn was goin' mental last night and blasted through the set with more energy than an atomic blast. On behalf of Flynn I apologize to Atlantic Audio or whatever the fuck your called for denting your bass speaker... he was just havin' too much fun... just be glad he swung the bass backwards into the speaker and not forwards into Smitty... Smitty dents easily.

Anyway... our next show is lined up for Feb. 19th at CBTG's and as always we're gonna give it everything we have and we plan to have 5 or 6 new covers for you and I'd say 2 or 3 new originals. To those of you who've heard us talking about this oddly named song "Wena De Cosa"... it's likely that it will be debuted on the 19th... it's definately one of the strangest Exploder songs yet. Oh... and if you've noticed that Trampled Pt. 1 hasn't been played much lately it's 'cause we're getting rid of it... we like Pt. 2 much more and we don't want to have any favourites... if something isn't as good as it can be then it's cut. Hopefully Jesse and Gene won't miss it too much... I know Gene was a bigger fan of Pt. 1 than Pt. 2.

So... that's it I guess... hopefully we'll see you guys soon.

JAN. 15th, 2005

So... I get the first posting of the new year. Well, I guess I better make this one worth while. I just stopped in to let everyone know what's been going on with the band. First thing is since the New Year's shows we've been on a sort of "hiatus"... that's just a word I'm using to make us sound cooler and more important. Really we just got lazy and sick of playing so we didn't play for a couple weeks. But we are getting back on the go in a few days. We have some new material that we are hoping will be ready for future shows but most of us haven't heard them yet so they might be complete garbage and won't make it out of the first jam. We are playing again this Friday... Jan. 21st at CBTG's so for those rare few of you who have been getting all saddened by rumors about us splitting up you can relax. I would like to add that those rumors were started by the band so never ever listen to us... we are liars... no, I can't say that... 'cause now you won't believe any of the other stuff I've said. I'm allergic to the "backspace" button. Also, we are in the process of registering exploder.ca as our official web page and our web master Brad Lannon has created an awesome site for us... you guys will shit yourselves when you see what he's done. There will be a bio, pictures, music, and videos, and a hell of a lot more on the site so it shoul dkeep you interested for a while. What else? I'm not sure if there's anything else to mention. Oh yes... in the early February days we are playing two benefits for the tsunami relief effort... one at Laval High School in Placentia on Feb 3rd and another at The Breezeway at MUN on Feb. 5th. We hope to see a good crowd at both events... this isn't for us... this is for charity... we have nothing to do with either event... we were asked to perform at both and we have volunteered our time so no, we aren't stealing money from victims... although we have done that before but that's only when it was us victomizing someone... anyway I'm gonna end this before I put "sodomize" into a sentence. Hope to see you all in the coming weeks. We'll try not to disappoint.

DEC. 20th, 2004

Happy Festivus to everyone. Little Drummer boy checkin' in here now to keep anyone who's interested up to date with the goin's on in the world of Exploder. Last night we played at CBTG's in St. John's and for me it was the best show so far. I had a laugh. Quite a different show than Roxxy's. I'm too lazy to go into details but if more shows were like that then I'd be a happy fucker.

Anyway... like I've said many times before... I'm lazy... so that's it for now. Hope to see you all either at CBTG's or The Big Rock in the next couple weeks.

NOV. 6th, 2004
Captain's log... stargate... sg1... 2:26 in the before spleep. Just back from CBTG's. Saw The Novaks... my mind is blown yet again... those boys can fuckin' rock. All I can say is there's no one quite like them. Word is Exploder will very soon be opening for The Novaks... avoid drooling if possible.

For those of you out there who want to know where Exploder stand now... we are takin' a couple weeks off before the gig at The Big Rock. We will be recording several songs that night for the demo so if you want to know what you sound like then get close to a mic or scream your guts out. The next day we'll be back at The Big Rock to record a bunch of originals for the demo... sorry to anyone who wants to drop in but it's off limits to unblowupable's (people not in Exploder). The demo could be ready as soon as the 26th so if you want a copy just ask us for one... seriouslly... we're giving them away. Chances are if you know about this site then you'll be getting a demo whether you want one or not. If you don't want it... give it to a friend. Sorry if there's an incredbile amount of spelling mistakes but I've been drinking you see... and thus my grammar and punction may not be at utmost par.

Thanks for the support everyone... we won't dissapoint you anytime soon. Keep your ears to the ground for new originals. EXPLODER!
